Walk-in spots are available for each session, but space is limited especially during weekends, holidays, and school vacations. Reservations are strongly encouraged!
Walk-in spots are first-come-first-serve and cannot be made over the phone, only in person!

You do not! A reservation will grant you access to the cat lounge, but you are more than welcome to visit the cafe, buy a drink and/or snack, and watch the kitties through the windows!
-
We currently welcome any visitors 6 and older. Any child younger than this is not permitted in the cat lounge but are welcome to watch the cats through the windows in the cafe!
There must be 1 adult present for every 2 children.
This is more flexible for kids 11 years and up but must have 1 adult present. Ages 15 and up can enter the lounge without an adult.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6PM - 8PM are Adult Only Sessions (18+). Anyone under 18 will not be permitted in the lounge during these times.

We offer sessions for those 18 years old and up on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the 6pm and 7pm sessions. The cafe transitions into a calm, adult-centered space. We may ask to see your ID to ensure you are of age at the time of entry.

Private Reservations
-
Yes. Please review our age restriction policy above for questions regarding children. However, we will allow children ages 6 and up for private reservations booked during Adult Only sessions (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6PM - 8PM).
Just a friendly reminder to ensure that the kids present for the reservation are closely monitored during the session, are fully understanding of our rules which will be given once you check in for your reservation, and are respectful of the cat's space by keeping noise and energy levels to a minimum. We know it can be really exciting for kiddos to celebrate among a sea of cats, but the comfort and safety of our kitties always takes top priority! We and the cats greatly appreciate your understanding and respect of this policy. -
The cat lounge has a maximum capacity of 16 people.
Please keep in mind, for kids under the age of 11, we require a ratio of 1 adult for every 2 children attending the session. We can be more flexible on this for children 11 and up. Please contact us so we can coordinate with you the number of adults needed for your private event.
-
Outside food is welcome, but it must stay in the cafe (separate from the cat lounge) so the cats do not get into it. We recommend setting aside extra time either before or after your private session to enjoy your food in the cafe, as long as it is within our business hours.
Minimal decorations are permitted in the cafe, but not in the cat lounge as they will inevitably become cat toys and treats. Do not bring confetti or glitter.
Please keep in mind that the cafe is on the smaller side and still open to the public. We ask that if you do bring food or decorations, to please clean up after yourselves and keep noise levels low to be respectful of the shared space.
If these limitations are an issue, we highly recommend celebrating with food and decorations at a different location before or after your private reservation.

You can pre-order any of our pastries, provided you order at least 1.5-2 weeks in advance so we have time to order extra from our suppliers. We will also require payment for the pre-ordered pastries. We offer:
cat short bread cookies that come in packs of 4
brownies with a cat shortbread cookie on top
macarons that come in birthday cake, brownie batter, nutella, and 2-3 seasonal flavors
We also offer protein bars and small bags of chips but we typically have plenty on hand so you won't need to order extra ahead of time, but we can still arrange this if you would prefer.
If you would like to pre-order any food for your reservation, please contact us to coordinate this.
The Cats
-
Negative, please do not bring your cat. Leave your cat at home, we have plenty of cats here.
-
We typically have between 18-25 cats staying at the Cat Cafe at any given time.
-
Most of time, no. However, we occasionally do treat time a few times a day. Feel free to ask the Feline Guardian or Volunteer on duty if you would like to offer them treats! But it is not always guaranteed, as we do not want our kitties to get too chubby.
Please do not bring the cats any food or treats from outside the lounge.
-
Cats are typically most active during the first session of the day and closer to dinner time around 5-6pm, but we cannot guarantee the activeness of all the cats during your reservation.
All cats are different and sleep for at least 12-16 hours a day so please be understanding if they seem sleepy during your visit! Feel free to ask the Feline Guardian or Volunteer on duty if you are able to offer treats to the cats (not always guaranteed) or for tips on interacting with the cats using the toys provided.
-
We adopt most of our cats from our partner shelters at Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC), Seattle Animal Shelter, and occasionally from other sources/shelters.
-
We currently do not have the resources to accept surrendered cats from individuals. If you are looking to surrender a cat, we encourage you to reach out to our partner shelters Regional Animal Services of King County, Seattle Animal Shelter, or any of the other wonderful shelters in the area!
-
Yes, all cats have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated at the shelter before joining our cat colony.
-
Most cats in the lounge currently are "ambassadors" that are staying with us for an indiscriminate amount of time until we decide to put them up for adoption. However, all ambassadors cats will eventually become adoptable!
There are usually some adoptable cats available, but not always. If you are interested in learning about cats currently available for adoption, please visit our Adoptable Cats page!
-
If you meet a cat that you think is the the right one for you during your visit, please ask the staff or volunteers about the adoption process. Or go to our Adoption FAQ page
